Wayne Falbey

Wayne Falbey is president of the
Falbey Group, LLC, a Naples-based consultant firm offering
services in real estate development which focus on
transactional analysis, acquisition and negotiation
strategies, contracts, land assemblage, due diligence, as
well as development issues involving finance, entitlements
and land use regulation, marketing, and planning and design.
Prior to establishing his own firm, Wayne was the Director
of Commercial Development for Bonita Bay Properties, Inc.,
now known as the Bonita Bay Group, a multi-project,
high-end, resort-oriented master planned community developer
in Florida. In that position, he had oversight
responsibility for all of the company’s land acquisitions
and builder programs, as well as responsibility for
development and disposition of all of the company's
commercial and multifamily properties. He also served on the
company’s plan review and architectural review committees.
Prior to joining Bonita Bay Properties, he served as Chief
Counsel for the Bay Colony division of Westinghouse
Communities, Inc. He also has served as independent legal
counsel for a variety of real estate developers, including
Fortune 100 companies, in the acquisition, assemblage,
planning, permitting, development, construction, marketing,
sale, and repositioning of real property.
Wayne served as Chairman of the Urban Land Institute (ULI)
District Council of Southwest Florida (ULI-Southwest
Florida) from July 1999 through June 2002. He has served as
a ULI District Council Counselor a member of ULI’s Policy &
Practice Committee, the Program Committee, Inclusivity Task
Force, Community Development Council, and Recreational
Development Council. Wayne currently serves on the
Small-Scale Development Council, and provides the developer
perspective on ULI Advisory Service Panels. He frequently
serves as moderator or member of panels at ULI conferences
and proceedings. Wayne also is a graduate of Leadership
Collier.
Currently, he is chair of real estate at the H. Wayne
Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova
Southeastern University. He also has served as an adjunct
member of the faculty in the Lutgert College of Business at
Florida Gulf Coast University, an AACSB-accredited school.
He is lead instructor and course manager for ULI’s 4-day
program, The Real Estate Development Process: Part I, its
2-day Real Estate Development Workshop, and has developed
and presents a 2-day course in Land Development for ULI.
He earned an MBA, as well as a doctorate in management with
a concentration in marketing. He also holds a law degree
from Vanderbilt University and, while no longer engaged in
the active practice of law, remains a member in good
standing of the Florida and Colorado Bars. |
